Software Rental

As a Microsoft Partner we can also supply software on a monthly rental basis under the Service Provider Licensing Agreement (SPLA). This allows us to include what are normally expensive pieces of software with your server rental so you pay a fixed monthly fee for server and software. An example of this is the choice of Windows software we offer as an operating system on our VMWare servers if a free open source copy of Linux does not meet your requirements. We can offer from a range of enterprise software including:

The rental cost includes Software Assurance so you are automatically entitled to new releases of the software. Software rental is very tax efficient as you can reclaim 100% of the cost as an expense rather than the 25% of a decreasing balance you can only claim on asset purchases.

Should you want to include software with your server rental then let us know at time of order. These are monthly rolling contracts and you do not have to commit to any longer than the minimum contract period for the equipment you are renting. This is especially useful for short term projects where the purchase of licensed software could make the project prohibitively expensive, whereas short term rental can be included in the cost.

We can also offer trial licenses for evaluation purposes. You can therefore create a temporary VMWare server and test with full versions of Microsoft licenses for up to 60 days without incurring a license fee. No subsequent purchase is necessary, but the virtual server and all Microsoft software loaded on to it under this agreement must be destroyed before the 60 days are up if you do not proceed with a live server order.
