Datacentre Specifications

Millennia Computer Services Ltd has a main datacentre with satellite secondary locations, providing regionally separated hosting facilities for those that require them, plus addtional facilities as detailed below.

The main datacentre is located about 25 miles to the west of London near Maidenhead. It has redundant 10Gbit/s fibre connections to a private London network, which is spread across 5 further locations in the London Docklands. Connectivity from the private network to the Internet exceeds 100GBit/s from a number of diverse providers, including:

• Teleglobe
• Interoute
• Tiscali

There is significant peering capacity (>200 peers) to the Internet traffic exchanges LINX, LonAP, and AMSIX (Amsterdam, giving us a direct gateway to Europe). Peering relationships have been established with other ISPs around the globe. These interconnect agreements mean that we connect directly with hundreds of ISPs worldwide, and all the major UK ISPs. The connections ensure that we have the very best of connectivity, and result in low latency, high throughput and secure transmission of data.

A second hosting centre is now available in Leicester providing comporable services to the Maidenhead site with the ability to have regionally separate DR services from the main Maidenhead site, both of which can be managed by us to maintain consistency for both your principal and backup systems. The Leicester site will be the main centre for our Cloud services, and also has ISO9001:2008 and ISO27001:2005 certification for customers requiring maximum data security.

We can also offer other hosting locations through partners in the following regional locations:

• Glasgow
• Nottingham

We can offer equipment placement in multiple locations for Business Continuity / Disaster Recovery purposes as required, including global load balancing to allow one site to fail over automatically to another for mission critical systems.
